Why was Bengal Partitioned in 1905 ?
Ans: There were many reasons for the partition of Bengal, Which are as follow :
Firstly, Bengal was a huge province to Govern. It was difficult for the british to look at every part of this area and was the largest province of that time with 78.5 million population. Thus British partitioned Bengal into East and West Bengal .
Secondly, The All India Congress which was becoming strong day by day in Bengal, as it was a totally Hindi dominated party so they were in majority in this province and were becoming strong by support thus the British partitioned Bengal to cut off the power of Congress.
Thirdly, East Bengal was in weak economic conditions this could be improved by partition. So the British thought of development in the East side, There after partition chittagong seaport, infrastructure, jute mill and other industries were set up .
